Premiere!

The film now has a premiere! I don't know the exact date it will be playing but the Vermont International Film Festival will be happening from October 22-31. If you are in the area I hope you can attend. Here is a link for the festival website: http://www.vtiff.org/.

Applying to Film Festivals

I miss being outside filming! My full time job these days is searching for appropriate film festivals and applying to them.

I still haven't decided when to release the film on DVD and Bluray. I'd like to have some reviews before doing so, to help with the marketing. I've also been exploring places to advertise the film, like in Audubon magazine, but it is really expensive and should the film do well I don't know if I really want to spend my days stuffing envelopes. I guess I could have worse problems!

New Film Title

The new title for the film is "AN UNCOMMON CURIOSITY: at home & in nature with BERND HEINRICH." I really think the film is finished now! I thought it was finished six weeks ago but the final tweaks are almost as much work as making the whole film! Anyway, the film has turned out wonderfully and I can't wait for people to see it. That said I don't have a release date yet. I am in the process of submitting the film to festivals and refining my distribution strategy. You wouldn't know it from my postings to this blog but I've been really busy with the film. Maybe the absence of posts is evidence of my busyness. In any case I am pleased to report that the film is now finished (aside from a few technical things like final color correction tweaks and a little audio work). The film has turned out really well and I can't wait to share it with you.
